Summary of 2016 Soldier Box Ministry
The average cost of each soldier care package increased by $1.43 per box in 2016. We sent out 5 more boxes in 2016 than in 2015.
The funding for this project does not come from the church’s budget; it is from your generous donations and the generous donations of others in the community. The support of Grace Church and others continues to be overwhelming to me. Your generosity is a blessing to our military and to me. You, as well as our military, remain in my prayers. With God’s help and your support I hope to continue this project as long as I have military names on my list. Our military, no matter where they are, are working for us. I send Care Packages to deployed military as well as to those who are serving domestically. All need to know that we care and we want to show them the love of God.
A big Thank You goes to those who contributed cookies or other items for Care Packages. These items help to keep costs down. If you prefer to make these kinds of donations suggestions are: fruit snacks (roll-ups, Gushers, etc.), raisins and/or yogurt covered raisins, hard candy, chewing gum, AA batteries, nuts, trail mix, Tootsie Rolls and Tootsie Roll Pops, Skittles, jerky, sunflower seeds, TicTacs, Little Debbie and Twinkies, foot and hand creams, eye drops, Wet Ones. Chocolate usually doesn’t travel well, but M&M’s seem to be ok. Just drop items in the office or place on the altar beside the care package.
All financial contributions are processed through Grace Church for accountability. Special thanks to Leeann! I track all expenditures monthly. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. God bless you all!
